President Jimmy Carter was the first and only born-again Christian to ever serve as President of United States. Though his one and only term got mixed reviews, his commitment to world peace and equality never wavered. How he got elected is not just his story but the story of a small that would never be the same.

This film follows the two-year journey of America's most unlikely Presidential candidate Jimmy Carter and the people of Plains, Georgia, who followed him every step of the way. The film captures the forgotten spirit of 1976, the last great Presidential election of the 20th century, when a small town in Georgia suddenly became the political capital of the world.
